Hip Pain
Calling All Athletes!
- Whether You Had an Injury in a Game
- Have a Nagging Pain
- or Just Don't Feel Like You're Performing Up to Your Potential
Movement Physical Therapy and Spine is Here for You!
If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you’ve come to the right place.
Many people suffer unnecessarily with pain during their sport because they’re told…
- Just “rest it” and it’ll be fine (then months later they’re still suffering…).
- It’s a "normal" part of being an athlete
- If you take some pills everything will be fine.
- Stopping is the only option
The Truth Is...
- Resting it doesn’t change anything. You might get a small temporary relief, but then when you get active again, you’ll still be suffering from pain or running the risk of re-injury (I bet you’ve already experienced it!).
- It’s not "normal" to be injured throughout a season.
- Pain pills are addicting, dangerous, and can cause a lot of other problems with your body.
- Stopping your sport is not the only option. It’s just the only option your family doctor can recommend.
At Movement Physical Therapy and Spine, We Help Athletes get back on the field, court, track, etc.
It can be very confusing to decide exactly what you should do if you have pain while playing your sport. You’ve likely heard a lot of options such as…
- A family member tells you to try a certain stretch
- A colleague mentions going to a massage therapist
- The “experts” on YouTube recommend doing a certain exercise
- A friend suggests going to a yoga class
- All while the doctor tells you to rest
It’s overwhelming to try to make a decision with all these choices… what will happen if you don’t make the right one?
Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.
A Place for Athletes
At Movement Physical Therapy and Spine, we understand the importance of keeping you on the field, track, or court. As former athletes themselves, our therapists know what a huge role sports play in your life. Staying healthy and injury-free is of the utmost importance.
We Prioritize YOU
We Are a Resource
Many athletes have a strong background in their sport, but they don’t necessarily have a background in the strength & conditioning principles that can help them stay injury-free and perform at a higher level. With in-depth backgrounds in exercise science and past careers as athletes themselves, our therapists take an evidence-based approach to keeping our athletes strong and pain-free. During rehab, they will teach you different principles to not only optimize your healing, but also help you hit your peak performance for your season.
Our Process
Phase 1: Tell Us Your Story
We want to hear all about your sport, you team, your training regimen, what your season looks like, as well as your current pain complaint, and past history with injuries.
We want to hear as much information as possible so that we can be a specific as possible when creating a rehab plan for you.
Phase 2: Get Some Clarity
We will explain the possible causes behind your injury as well as explain the timeline for recovery.
We will teach you about how you can incorporate strength & conditioning principles into your regimen to both assist in recovery, but also to help optimize your performance.
Phase 3: Resolve Your Pain and Build Up Resiliency
Once your pain begins to decrease, your therapist will walk you through ways to continue to improve your health, and help prevent these injuries from coming up in the future.
At Movement Physical Therapy and Spine we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.
Step #1 - We Want To Listen To Your Story
Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”
Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.
This is why our first step is to listen to your story.
After working with lots of athletes with injuries, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.
That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life.
Step #2 - Find Out WHY The Pain With Golf Started
Many people have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their doctor gave it to them, maybe tests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.
You could have been told that your only choice was to rest, take painkillers, or start thinking about surgery.
Sometimes, those things bring temporary relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.
Every person’s cause of pain is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person.
Our goal at Movement Physical Therapy and Spine is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY!
We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if physical therapy is right for you. That’s why we created our Discovery Visit.
Our Discovery Visits are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Discovery Visit you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally
Step #3 - Get Rid Of The Pain & Keep It From Coming Back
This is when the big transformation occurs. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…
…Get back to participating in your sport without worrying about your injury.
…Be able to play at a high level with the rest of your team
…Get back to your pre-injury strength
Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active lifestyle. (Even if they feel stuck right now!)
Want to know more about our availability and costs before making any commitment to coming in?
You don’t have to sacrifice the sport you love over problems that can be fixed.
